Background: ACTED has been working in Cambodia since 2009, and has been implementing the Workers Sabay (Happy Workers) project since 2014.
Workers Sabay is a certification scheme that rewards hosptality businesses that offer fair working conditions to their employees. In order to be certified, businesses need to comply with ACTED's Code of Conduct, which is based on the national Labour Law. ACTED supports businesses to comply through employer training and one-on-one mentoring. Certified businesses are then promoted to tourists visiting Cambodia, thus promoting responsible tourism and business, as well as workers' labour rights. ACTED works with a range of actors: private sector businesses, CFSWF (union) and governmental partners.
